Mr. Waqas Ahmed is a Qualified Chartered Accountant, talented, results-driven accounting and finance professional with over 10 years’ experience and achievements within key Auditing, management accounting, finance and risk management demonstrating comprehensive understanding of complex accounting principles to successfully minimize system inefficiencies and strengthen overall bottom-line profitability. He has influential communication skills with unique ability to liaise with staff, clients and key decision makers/stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and nationalities. Qualified as Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in 2010, worked with Ernst & Young, UHY Hassan Naeem & Co Chartered Accountants, KPMG at various positions and joined as Senior Partner for this new practice firm.

He is expert in Auditing & Assurance, Taxation, and Internal Audit. He has professional experience for more than a decade in auditing firms. He has in depth knowledge of Afghanistan Financial Sector. Mr. Amir Mahmood FCA

Mr. Amir Mahmood is a Qualified Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in 1999. He has rich industry experience which spanned over two decades. He completed his training from S.M. Masood & Co. Chartered Accountants.

After completion of his training, he joined Total Media Ltd as Financial Controller wherein he worked on Business Plan, interacted with institutional and other sponsors, conducted board meetings for approvals of project cost and presented the total project cost incurred position to the board at different levels, and built & implemented the control systems.

In 2005, he moved to World Telecom Limited (WTL) , an Omam Telecommunication Company, where is worked since 2012. WTL is a subsidiary of Oman Telecommunications Company, a state owned and largest telecom company of Sultanate of Oman, which acquired controlling shares of WTL from First Capital Group, on May 2, 2008. WTL has gone through the process of restructuring and transforming its systems and policies as per the requirements of Omantel. Detecon (A Dutch telecom consultant, A T-System Company) and PWC were engaged for the assignments.

WTL is listed in Karachi & in Lahore Stock Exchanges as one of the largest composite telecommunication and media service provider companies in Pakistan having deployed infrastructure in 52 cities. Service offerings include telephony, payphones, LDI, broadband internet (wireless and wireline), cable TV, advertisement, optical fibre connectivity and related services having presence in 52 cities with more than 500,000 subscribers and annual turnover of more than PKR 8 billion and around 1,700 employees.

Mr. Muhammad Furqan FCA

Mr. Muhammad Furqan is a Qualified Chartered Accountant from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan in 2001. He has rich industry experience which spanned over two decades. He completed his training from S.M. Masood & Co. Chartered Accountants.

After completion of his training from S.M. Masood & Co. Chartered Accountants, he joined Micro Tech Group where he worked as General Manager Finance & Operations. MicroTech is mainly into the business of R & D and manufacturing of products relating to Power and Telecom Sector. It has currently 1.5 million meters installed base in Pakistan.

He established the company’s entire financial framework which includes strategic and financial planning, analysis, reporting, treasury, cash management, accounting, taxation, revenue assurance, credit collection, supply chain and implemented automated systems to support financial operations for a new start-up company in year 2000-01. He formulated and implemented internal control system and rules & regulations of the company & also been actively involved in In-house development of ERP System.

His key area of expertise includes:

  • Financial management, tax management & corporate matters. Liaoning with tax consultants in respect of issues related to income tax, sales tax, custom and excise for the efficient Tax planning and compliance of taxation laws.
  • Preparation and examination of financial plans, Financial/Accounting policies.
